Last year’s winner

Costain Carillion JV on behalf of the Highways Agency
M1 Junc 10-13 Improvement Scheme

The project was a Managed Motorway with the technology to allow the hard shoulder to operate as a running lane during busier periods. This increased capacity ensures more reliable journey times for local residents and both local and national businesses.

Judges’ comment:

Construction was undertaken on an extremely busy highway in limited space using innovative methods and with good stakeholder liaison.
