The NEW Highways Maintenance Efficiency Award 2015 will be awarded to a local authority highway maintenance service, team or partnership which has developed and implemented a transformational approach to service delivery, resulting in service improvement, measurable cost efficiencies and enhanced customer satisfaction.

Open to all authorities in the highways sector, regardless of their level of engagement with HMEP.

  • Provide evidence of demonstrable and measurable improvement in service quality, cost efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide details of innovation in areas such as procurement, contract management, asset management or operational practice which have contributed to service improvement.
  • Describe areas where collaboration, partnership and wider stakeholder engagement have contributed to improvement.
  • Provide evidence of significant organisational and cultural changes that have been achieved and which have also contributed to the delivery of service benefits.
  • Supply any additional, non-financial benefits realised for the organisation, road users and the wider community.
